"I'd say institutionalized racism."
"I'm not familiar with that. Could you explain what that is?"
"Institutionalized racism is racism within micro and macro institutions, so like systems and sub-systems, for example educational departments, for example you see, there's McDonald's in Dorchester and downtown Boston areas but there's no McDonald's in Weston and the richest town in Massachusetts. So basically they choose and pick exactly where to put certain things that can affect certain things or certain people or help people grow in different areas but refrain from doing it in certain areas. So institutionalized racism basically comes from within institutions."
"You seem very familiar with the subject, do you study it or..?"
"Yeah, I do study it. Right now I'm a sociology major and a social work major but I've done work on racism class, genera, things like that."
