I met this man in Davis Square. He is from the Bay Area in San Francisco, and he hitchhiked, flew, and carpooled his way to where he is now. Right now he is homeless, but he talked of sleeping, at, quoted, an "old gay dude's house." I asked him what type of music he plays, and he replied with "my music." I liked this answer, because of its simplicity. The name of this post comes from the book, Into the Wild. This man was very similar to Chris McCandless, who was the main character of the story. Similar to McCandless, this man went to a Rainbow Gathering, which are temporary gatherings which is sort of a place for hippies to gather. These Gatherings go against society's values. McCandless stayed at a place called Slab City in California, which has similarities to these Rainbow Gatherings, based on what this man said and my research. I asked him to play me some music, which he did, and he was very talented.
